My name is Amanda Alcozer, and I have proudly called Von Ormy home since January 2021. My husband, Arturo, who has been part of this community since middle school, and I are raising our family here, deeply invested in the success and future of our city.
I am excited to announce my candidacy for Mayor of Von Ormy in the upcoming election. If elected, I will champion responsible economic development and improved infrastructure, ensuring that growth benefits our residents while preserving the values that make our city special.
We need development that creates jobs, strengthens our local economy, and generates tax revenue—all while prioritizing the needs of our community. A mayor who genuinely listens, cares, and takes action can unite Von Ormy and build a brighter future for us all.

As Vice President of a local nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community, I have seen firsthand the challenges our residents face. While my work with the nonprofit isn’t political, it has given me a deep understanding of our city’s needs and strengthened my commitment to making a real difference.
In the past, a small group has used local politics for personal gain—hiring family members as contractors and enabling corrupt former employees to operate unchecked, all to maintain power. For too long, the office of mayor has served personal interests at the expense of the people of Von Ormy. It’s time for real accountability, transparency, and leadership that puts our community first. Von Ormy deserves better, and together, we can clean up our city and build a future that benefits everyone—not just a select few.
We need economic development, but not just any development. Von Ormy deserves growth that brings good-paying jobs and establishes solid, lasting businesses that truly benefit our community.
